The main lodge at Smokey Shadows has twelve rooms, each cozy and rustic, with log-beam ceilings and stone-log walls. Each room has a private bath. No two rooms are alike. Several have feather beds and are accented with heirloom quilts and curtains.
Inside the lodge, exposed beams and wormy chestnut walls dominate. The great room has a massive stone fireplace and time polished hardwood floors.
The main lodge provides a great room to relax by the warm fire on cool evenings. For the solitude seekers, there are also two unique cabins with one being over 100 years old.
The porch, running the full length of the lodge, is filled with rocking chairs. An old porch swing has a prominent location.
The view from the porch is breathtaking, and many people come to the porch in slippers and bath robes with cups of tea or coffee to watch the sun rise.
The view isn't the only thing to take in at Smokey Shadows Lodge, there's plenty of good "country gourmet" cooking as well. A sumptuous continental breakfast awaits you when you rise in the morning and Ginger offers other fine meals upon request. We offer advanced reservations dining 3 to 4 nights a week . This family style setting can be for parties of up to 40 people.
